They didn't hire men with long hair, even if it was restrained, even if it was put into a bun. Maybe post-COVID has changed their views but I passed an audition several years back to deal on call and tournaments but they saw my long hair restrained behind my back and said I had to cut it. One possible impediment is that they have strict rules about appearance, or at least they did. The difficulty of that is what led him to turn down the offer.
